I just noticed it too. What's up with these stupid ads?

I am running a test run with these ads to see if they are worthwhile. I have been trying to get them to be as non-intrusive as possible, however it seems that has not been very effective. Based on complaints, etc they will probably be gone after a month or so. My apologies until then.

I'm personally fine with you all running ads since you all have to keep the site running somehow though when they are basically uncloseable pop up ads I have a problem with it. Obviously you are aware with these problems and plan to fix them so no hard feelings.

Once again, my apologies for the inconvenience sustained over the last month or so by you all. I (and indeed the community) have deemed the new advertising campaign to be too intrusive for our "site values" as it were. I was hoping they could be implemented without the level of disruption that they have caused, but that was not possible.

I cannot promise that test runs like this will never happen again, but I shall be sure to do more research in the future.
